In my view following are the upcoming, new and emerging career options to consider for Students in India.

  8. Mobile Applications Developer: With the increase in the number and make of mobile phones, there comes a demand for better applications. And in turn, huge scope of mobile application development. The mobile applications developer creates software for mobile devices and technology whether for an Android, Apple or Windows platform. Look for a degree in Computer Science and specialisations for the same.
  9. Alternative Energy Consultants: Alternative Energy Consultant would be a universal expert on all alternative energy sources including solar, hydro, nuclear energy and more. As the earth can not survive long on Fossil fuel alternate sources need to be developed.
  10. Organ/Body Part creator: Progress in stem cell research means 3D-printing could well be used to grow organs on demand. There is a concrete expectation that in the next decade more and more organs could be manufactured from the recipient cells. Interested students keen on exploring multiple areas of study including RNA structure, chromosome movement and cell wall synthesis, membrane biogenesis and organ development. This career is for you. Look for courses in Molecular and Cellular Biology or Biomedical Engineering
  11. Pharmacovigilance: also known as drug safety, is the pharmacological science relating to the collection, detection, assessment, monitoring, and prevention of adverse effects with pharmaceutical products. Students with an interest in Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotech and chemistry wanting to specialise in Bio-science.
