Will the counselor share my personal and private details with my friends, family or other third parties?

Serene Hour follows a strict confidentiality policy and does not share clients private and personal details with any third parties. Therapy is a safe space. Your therapist will not judge your behavior, personal choices or past experiences. In therapy, you may discuss anything that is on your mind.

What is the cancellation & refund policy

Incase of a cancellation of a session to avail a full refund the client must inform via email or a whatsapp text 24 hours prior to the session during the Serene Hour business hours from (Monday to Friday, 10:30am – 7:30pm)

What happens if I am not on time for my counseling session?

We value punctuality and hence start and end therapy sessions during the allocated time. We recommend all clients to be on time for their session.

Serene Hour has a waiting policy for ten minutes after which depending on the availability of sessions a client can reschedule for another time or the standing session is canceled without a refund.

I have taken a virtual session and need to reschedule?

To reschedule a virtual appointment kindly notify us either by a WhatsApp text or email 24 hours prior to the session. Clients are allowed to avail one cancellation or rescheduling of a session. Clients are allowed one reschedule per session. Multiple rescheduling of sessions are not permitted and no refund is given.

How many sessions do I need to avail for counseling?

Every person is unique and every individual responds to therapy differently. Hence we leave it up to the client as to how many sessions they would like to avail with us. You may end therapy at any time, just by informing us.

I do not live in India, will therapy be effective for me?

For clients availing counseling services outside of India, Serene Hour is experienced in providing culturally-sensitive counseling that takes into consideration different ethnic and cultural beliefs. We have worked with people from all over the world.

What kind of problems do people seek for personal counselling?

People seek personal counselling for many reasons. They seek counselling for reasons such as emotional pain, mental trauma, loneliness, lack of direction, unhappiness, dissatisfaction, and sometimes even personal growth and direction.

Is personal counselling confidential?

Personal Counselling is absolutely confidential. Client must feel at ease is the foremost objective. Client’s comfort, privacy, confidentiality are of utmost importance.

How many sessions does it take to see change?

The effectiveness of counselling varies client to client. A counselling session is effective only if the client actively participates in the counselling process and follows-up with remedial behaviour correction activities and other activities as suggested.

How can I take an appointment?

You could write to us or call us to schedule as appointment.

What if I am unable to travel to the office for counselling?

Certain times not being able to reach to the office due to distance or commitments or any other unforeseen circumstance. During these times the client can request for a telephonic counselling session.

How long are these sessions?

The first session with the counsellor generally takes 2 hours. Any follow-up sessions takes about 1 hour.

What if I am late for a session?

Please try to not be late for a session as you stand to lose your allotted time slot. If you have to re-schedule a session, please inform us prior. A time-slot once allotted can be re-scheduled with prior information. A client late for a session stands to lose his allotted time.

CAREER COUNSELLING

Do I need to prepare about anything before the tests?

Not really. Just have a good night’s sleep. Eat a good breakfast. Relax. Have a fresh state of mind. These tests don’t need you to have any prior preparation as they are not based on syllabus or subjects.

Are these tests difficult?

These tests are meant to understand you, your personality and your aptitude. You may have answers to a few questions and you may not have an answer to a few. It is okay. You will not be negatively marked or judged. For some questions there are no right or wrong answers, those questions are meant to reflect your thought process.

What is the duration of these tests?

The student could take any where from 1 hour to 4 hours to complete the test. Timings differ according to the age, personality and speed of answer of the student.

Can parent/s accompany the child when the tests occur? / Are parents required for the testing?

Parents are not really required during the testing. Parent/s are required to be there for the counselling sessions. However, if the student is of 18 years of age and above, they could chose to take a session with or without their parents.

My child has already done an aptitude testing. Can we only come for a counselling session?

Yes. Absolutely. You could take an appointment only for a counselling session, but please make sure the test results are within 6 months of its administration. If the tests have been done 6 months earlier or more, we recommend the child does the testing again. You could either visit us at our office or mail us the previous report.

Can I split the tests between different days because I am busy?

Yes. You could do that. You need to inform us at the time of your appointment, and schedule appointment dates accordingly.

Do you guide for selecting a suitable college?

We can give you guidelines for selecting the right college. The final selection would be yours and your parent’s.

Can we give these tests online?

We do not have an online testing facility as yet.

Does the student need to carry any academic or extra-curricular certificates?

No. That would not be needed.

Will the counsellor suggest courses based on my interest?

The counsellor would suggest a course that best fits the student’s aptitude and personality. Sometimes students are disillusioned by the glamour or popular myths related to a particular career. They may be determined to pursue that career based on the opinions or illusions they have made about that career. Sometimes that decision may or may not be right as it may not match the student’s aptitude or personality. The objective of a good career counselling is to highlight the potential of the student. Bring awareness of the possible career choices that the student could be successful at while carefully threading around their area of interest and goals.
