1. Colleges may have sterling reputations. But don’t fall for star ratings and online reviews of such colleges.
Research about their Infrastructure, Professors and Merits of the particular department of Engineering you wish to associate yourself with in that college.
2. More often than it should be, a college may be known for its excellent IT and Chemical Engineering department, but the department of Mechanical engineering may not be as advanced, well-equipped or even have the best of the reputation in that college.
But innocent children and parents fall for this trap.
If you are considering this college for Mechanical Engineering only because it has the reputation of “well-known” engineering college, you may be in for some disappointment by the standards of teaching and infrastructure of the department, later during the course.
3. Ensure you research and find out about the reputation of the college in the department of engineering you intend to specialise in and not just its ‘overall’ reputation.
4.Look for their ‘Placements record’ What Precaution must Engineering Aspirants take before selecting an Engineering college?
Often colleges resort to unfair practises of boasting of ‘Alumni-placements’ which they may have no contribution towards, these children may have found placements by themselves and usually colleges show their ‘pride’ by featuring such children and their achievements on their admission prospectus.
