2009 Vs 2019 The #10yearschallenge
I usually stay away from participating in these online challenges, simply because I find them amusing and not something that really drives me to action. But Boy! This challenge did drive me to action. I not only posted the Before & After customary collage, I am also blogging about it.
I must admit that this challenge is amazing. It brings a flashback of so many memories of love, struggles, hopes and dreams to mind. There are so many experiences and learnings that the past decade has left me with. If I could ever tell my Decade-Old Self something profound, something that could have made my struggles and anguishes a lot easier, I’d tell her the following:
- I’ve learnt that most of the people or things that I fretted over became inconsequential over a period of time.
- Learn the art of letting go, of moving on, of moving away if necessary, as quickly as you can.
- Learn to stay away from Drama and Toxic people as quickly as you can. If they don’t add positivity to your journey, they don’t need to be a part of your journey.
- Aren’t Self-Dates and Solitude peaceful and fulfilling? There is nothing wrong with you if you enjoy your own companionship over others.
- Learn to laugh at your mistakes. Learn to understand how the error happened and don’t shy away from re-working.
- Being close-to-perfect is the new “Being – Perfect”
- You are your own kind of beautiful. That there is always someone who is going to be smarter or more beautiful that you are. It okay. You are perfect. Unique and Complete in your own way.
- There is always someone who is going to Dislike you or Misunderstand you for reasons you may or may not ever understand. It’s okay. Their opinions don’t matter. Don’t fret.
- Learn to say ‘No’ (without feeling guilty) as quickly as you can. It’s Okay to say a ‘NO’ to things that don’t work for you.
- And finally, Life really does go on. Life is like a Pendulum . It goes both High and Low. Everything that begins, ends. And what ends brings fresh beginnings. Keep Going Girl!
